Drums & Saxophones
8/12/2024

I've been practicing nothing but the Baritone Guitar for about 9 months.  I fell in love with the sound of this instrument.  It has depth, beauty and a register that brings out the lower end of the music spectrum.  The Bari matches my voice.

After taking a few lessons with Stan Smith, the Legendary Columbus Guitarist and Composer, I've been motivated to experiment  with new  sounds, melodies and phrasing.  I've been fascinated.

While composing a few songs the overall "sound" arrived in my consciousness.  I had to call Maxwell Button, his musicality on drums, percussion and creative spirit are essential.  Fred Gablick, baritone saxophone, bass clarinet and alto flute, my super low end superhero.  Kevin O'Neill tenor sax, flute, harmony vocals and exciting melodies, solos that transcend space, but are always in time.

Kevin and Fred began writing horn charts from the demos I sent each of them.  I cannot express how impressed I've been with their ability to compose horn arrangements that support the song and give dimension.  Max then just lays down perfectly crafted rhythms and sounds to give every song their own heart.

Our 2nd show will be at Rumba Cafe, Wednesday, Sept. 11th 6-9pm with Stan Smith and singer/songwriter Risk Kishk.  I cannot wait to perform again.  We've been getting songs all prettied up for a spectacular evening of creative and cutting edge music.
